Foam Rubber

There are generally two classifications of rubbers, “cellular rubber” and “solid rubber”. Foam rubber would be considered in the category of cellular. This is because within the rubber there are little cells of air that are locked inside and give it, its ‘sponge like’ qualities. It is important not to confuse foam rubber and sponge rubber because that may differ depending on the application. Foams can be very useful in applications that require a material that is resistant to impact and is also very good at sealing.

Generally, foam rubber is manufactured from liquid rubber and creates small bubbles that cause the cells. The chemical that creates the cells are called foaming agents.

There are many different products that NEDC converts. Converting is defined as changing the raw material into a part size that can be used in an application. Below is a list of different products that NEDC converts in its state of the art facility.
